Meet the Staff

Christ Methodist Preschool is fortunate to have dynamic teachers with many years of experience. All of them are licensed and have extensively studied early childhood education.

Jill Stephens: CMP is very pleased to welcome Jill as our new Director. Jill has an AA degree, an Associate Teacher’s Certificate and a California Child Development Associate Teacher Permit. She has worked in the child development field for about 15 years caring for infants through 5-year-old’s. “Working at CMP with a team of teachers who are dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing environment for children has been my great pleasure. I believe that children learn by playing. They learn and develop every time they work together in the playhouse, build structures, sing songs and experiment with art. One of my favorite moments is when I see one child helping another which often happens in our multi-age program.” Jill lives with her husband in Sebastopol where they raised their 3 sons. In her spare time, she likes to play tennis and walk her dogs.

Sally Kingshill-Alarie attended Early Childhood classes at Santa Rosa JC while her son Charlie was a preschooler at CMP. She enjoyed volunteering as a parent participant for two years. When her daughter Paige attended CMP she served on the board both years as the enrollment chair and had the opportunity to fill in occasionally as a substitute teacher the following couple of years, and has been a full time teacher at CMP for over a decade. Sally loves the innocence, enthusiasm and spontaneity of the preschoolers.

Sharon Justin has been a part of our school one way or another for many years. She volunteered at our school when 5 of her grandchildren attended and has subbed for us over the last year or so. She has 11 years of experience working with 3 to 5 year olds. Sharon graduated from Humboldt State University with an elementary K-8 teaching credential and retired 6 years ago. “I am so happy to be back in the classroom with all of your wonderful and sweet children, as well as have the opportunity to be a part of their first and very important school experience!

Melanie White has a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development from Sacramento State. She has worked with young children for over twenty years and has very much enjoyed being a part of their early learning and development. In her free time, she enjoys walks/hikes, Giant’s games and spending time with her nieces and nephews.
