Meet the Staff

Christ Methodist Preschool is fortunate to have dynamic teachers with many years of experience. All of them are licensed and have extensively studied early childhood education.

Sally Kingshill-Alarie attended Early Childhood classes at Santa Rosa JC while her son Charlie was a preschooler at CMP. She enjoyed volunteering as a parent participant for two years. When her daughter Paige attended CMP she served on the board both years as the enrollment chair and had the opportunity to fill in occasionally as a substitute teacher the following couple of years, and has been a full time teacher at CMP for over a decade. Sally loves the innocence, enthusiasm and spontaneity of the preschoolers.

Arlene Taylor has been a familiar face at CMP for several years, first dropping off and picking up the kids she nannied, and for the past few years as a full time teacher. Arlene has loved working with young children for 12 years, both as a nanny and a preschool teacher. She has enjoyed continuing her education during these past few years and has taken on the role as Director of CMP. Arlene believes in working as a team to best fit the needs of each child. She is committed to play-based learning as a natural and fun way for children to develop the skills needed for elementary school and throughout life. She loves the link that CMP offers between the school, the families, and the surrounding community, and is excited to be a part of our wonderful learning environment.

Sharon Justin has been a part of our school one way or another for many years. She volunteered at our school when 5 of her grandchildren attended and has subbed for us over the last year or so. She has 11 years of experience working with 3 to 5 year olds. Sharon graduated from Humboldt State University with an elementary K-8 teaching credential and retired 6 years ago. “I am so happy to be back in the classroom with all of your wonderful and sweet children, as well as have the opportunity to be a part of their first and very important school experience!”

Jill Stephens: CMP was very pleased to welcome back Teacher Jill in 2017. Jill has an A.A. degree, an Associate Teacher’s Certificate and a California Child Development Associate Teacher Permit. She has worked in the child development field for about 15 years caring for infants through 5 year olds. Jill and her husband live in Sebastopol where they raised their 3 sons. “I believe that children learn by playing, and I feel fortunate to witness their development whether they are making “dinner” in the playhouse, looking for dinosaur bones in the sandbox or listening to stories.”
